Grown up in Hamburg (”Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg” / Germany); school visit and military service in Hamburg. Study in the Department of Jurisprudence of the University of Hamburg.

1984:

First Juridical State Examination (“Erstes Staatsexamen”) in Hamburg

since 1984:

Work on the doctorate and as Assistant Researcher at the Department of Civil Law and Civil Law Research at the University of Hamburg

From 1988 to 1990:

Legal Clerkship (“Referendariat”) at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Hamburg (Hanseatisches Oberlandesgericht Hamburg) 

1989:

Graduation to a Doctor of Law (“Doktor der Jurisprudenz”) with a thesis on criminal procedural and criminal topics ("The criminal prosecution prohibitions with special consideration of the evident false witness", appeared in the series "Jurisprudence Research and Development", publishing company: V.
